Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) is a new field with high future growth prospects that combines such markets as "automobiles", "telecommunications and broadcasting", and "logistics". In this far-reaching business field, Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) is focused on developing the technology of a bidirectional communication platform called Dedicated Short Range Communication (DSRC) for the purpose of integrating diverse ITS services. By adopting this as core technology, MC aims at early development and commercialization of new services. MC has already launched new services that utilize new technologies applicable to ITS such as mobile telephony, wireless LAN, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), geographical information and geospatial positioning systems, and aims to ensure future development will be complementary to these services.
