In the Foods (Products) Division, we handle various products and businesses in the food industry, which is facing rapid change and undergoing accelerated restructuring, and make efforts to improve the functions of this industry's value chain. In particular, we are focusing on strengthening our global material procurement, establishing a distribution system to provide a full range of products in all food categories and promoting alliances with retailers and restaurants including major convenience stores and supermarkets. MC is responding to a wide range of new market needs with business investments such as RYOSHOKU LIMITED, a food wholesaler, San-Esu Inc., a confectionary wholesaler, Meidi-ya Corporation, a food and liquor wholesaler, and Princes, a major food and beverage company of the U.K.
In the Food (Products) Division, we are working on the establishment of the value chain where we can satisfy consumers with goods and service supplied in a timely manner. We will further reinforce our capabilities to procure raw materials and processed foods in Japan and overseas, and enhance our role as a manufacturer of food products at processing bases abroad. At the same time, we will proceed with establishing food traceability, and strengthening our sales function in China, Asia and Europe. Serving the role of connecting different industries with the value chain, we will also endeavor to provide high value-added services.
