The Mitsubishi Corporation Fund for Europe and Africa (MCFEA) was established in 1992 to promote environmental conservation, education and research into the environment and poverty alleviation. Since its inception, the MCFEA has contributed over 1.3 million pounds to environmental and developmental projects in Europe and Africa, working with a wide range of partner organizations.

Since 1993 the MCFEA has supported Earthwatch, an international environmental charity, and to date it has donated over 300,000 pounds. Earthwatch's mission is to engage people worldwide in scientific field research and education, in order to promote the understanding and action necessary for a sustainable environment.

Main Grant Programs

Activities in Africa
Since 1993, the MCFEA's support of Earthwatch has enabled over 70 employees from Mitsubishi Corporation offices to participate in Earthwatch expeditions, assisting scientists and specialists on Earthwatch's conservation projects worldwide. By joining research projects, MC employees are able to enhance their awareness and understanding of environmental issues while playing an important role in vital data collection.
