Overview
In the Functional Chemicals Division, our business domain has expanded to include downstream industries, and presently, we are engaged in businesses across diverse industries. In particular, we are strengthening business operations in sectors that are expected to grow due to changes in the needs of society and consumers. Targeted sectors include commodity resins, functional resins, and functional materials. Our business investments cater to the needs of a wide range of markets and include a resin compounds business in North America and hydrogen peroxide manufacturing business in Japan.
Strategy
- Seize investment opportunities overseas in the expanding industry encompassing raw materials and material processing, and vigorously promote overseas investment with partners who possess technological strengths.
- Strengthen the value chain so that it can respond better to customer needs and thus respond to the globalization of demand.
- Provide finely-tuned responses to a range of needs in the broadening fields of demand by strengthening marketing functionality using the international and domestic capability of the entire MC group.

Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and stabilizers, additives, plasticizers, polyolefin, polystyrene resin, engineering plastic, polyurethane materials and products, synthetic rubber, silicone, catalysts, iodine-related products, pulp chemicals, sharpening materials and sharpening stones, electronic materials, paints, coating materials and environment-related products.
