On October 1, 2010, as the result of a business combination between the former MC Energy, Inc. which handled asphalt used for road construction and other industrial purposes and industrial fuels, and Petro-Diamond Japan Corporation, which handled bunker fuel oil and lubricants for marine vessels, a new "MC Energy, Inc." was started. The two pillars of the new company are its industrial materials business that contributes to urban-development infrastructure and its bunker and lubricants business that provides back-up to the logistics relating to overseas expansion of Japanese companies. MC Energy is seeking to boost its presence in the petroleum industry and become the leading company in sales of heavy oil products.

While pursuing new possibilities from the synergy effects that both our land-based and sea-based businesses provide to each other, the company will leverage to its fullest the overseas and domestic network of the MC group as well as its functions as a trading company, such as the rapid sharing of information and the building of mutually beneficial relationships, both greatly needed by its customers. In this way, the company aims to further evolve as an energy trading company boasting diverse functions.
