Overview
We make investments overseas to secure supplies of non-ferrous metals, focusing mainly on copper, aluminum, and precious metals.
At the same time, we trade non-ferrous metals and products, ranging from copper, lead, zinc, tin, and aluminum metals to electric wire, copper alloy, and aluminum products, metallic titanium products, and others. These metals and products are traded through our subsidiaries such as Mitsubishi Corporation Unimetals Ltd.
In addition to carrying out the business of trading precious metals like gold, silver, and platinum and secondary aluminum alloy business, we also trade on the London Metal Exchange (LME) through Triland Metals Ltd, one of our subsidiaries.
Strategy
We are seeking to secure non-ferrous metal resources on a global scale and to create a global trading structure that can control price risks for non-ferrous metals, which are financial instruments. Through such efforts, we are aiming to secure a firm position in the world's non-ferrous metal resources market, and through our non-ferrous metal products and recycling businesses, we are looking to establish an optimally integrated value chain that covers the entire industry from upstream to downstream. In addition, we are also exploring the potential for a variety of new businesses in a broad range of non-ferrous metal-related areas.
