Overview
We make foreign investments to secure raw materials for non-ferrous metals, mainly focusing on copper concentrate, aluminum bullion, and precious metals. At the same time, we sell non-ferrous metal products ranging from copper, lead, zinc, tin, and aluminum bullion to electric wire, wrought copper and copper alloy products, aluminum products, metallic titanium and processed products. These non-ferrous metal products are sold in collaboration with our business investments such as Mitsubishi Shoji Light Metal Sales Corporation and Mitsubishi Corporation Unimetals Ltd.
Our businesses also include transactions of non-ferrous metal scrap and secondary alloy bullion through NIKKEI MC ALUMINIUM CO., LTD. We also handle spot trading of precious metals such as gold, platinum and silver, and engage in commodity futures trading through MC-invested companies such as Mitsubishi Corporation Futures Ltd. and the Triland Group.
Strategy
We are seeking to secure non-ferrous metal resources on a global scale and to create a global trading structure that can control price risks for non-ferrous metals, which are financial instruments. Through such efforts, we are aiming to secure a firm position in the world's non-ferrous metal resources market, and through our non-ferrous metal products and recycling businesses, we are looking to establish an optimally integrated value chain that covers the entire industry from upstream to downstream. In addition, we are also exploring the potential for a variety of new businesses in a broad range of non-ferrous metal-related areas.
