In light of diversifying changes and circumstances in the environments both inside and outside the company, MC focuses on human resource development on a consolidated and global basis. In order to draw out more of the potential of employees, and for individuals to be able to perform to their full abilities, MC has various training systems in place.
MC provides detailed training programs, for MC employees in Japan and overseas and employees of MC Group Companies, which are tailored in accordance with each employee's year of entry into the company, qualifications, position in the company and career objectives.
MC's overall training programs
In accordance with themes such as "strengthening management ability" and "HR management and organizational management," MC carries out a broad array of training aimed at developing management-capable staff at MC and its business related companies, such as "knowledge and business skills necessary for operations and the development of abilities", which employees themselves choose according to their needs. This is carried out in addition to training that is tailored according to an employee's year of entry into the company, qualifications or position in the company.
About 5,000 people participated in MC's training schemes in fiscal 2010.

Strengthening the global competitiveness of young employees
In order to handle the global development of MC's business portfolio and to strengthen MC's global competitiveness in terms of human resources, MC has in place a "global trainee system," as an overseas assignment system aimed at young employees.
In this system, trainees are dispatched to countries all over the world, in particular China and India, in order to learn the cultures and languages of those countries. In addition, under the policy of "all young employees having overseas experience once," MC has structures in place such as a trainee system whereby employees undertake training in countries all over the world from their second year at the company. Including those dispatched through the global trainee system, about 150 young employees a year are dispatched overseas.
Human resource development initiatives to strengthen consolidated management
Global Leadership Program gathers leadership candidate employees from around the world including Japan
The MC Group is aspiring towards enhanced group unity of human resources, sharing the HR development knowhow cultivated within MC with MC Group companies, inside and outside Japan, and other places abroad.
Since 2010, MC has held the MC Group Gateway Program for junior and mid-level employees at overseas bases, or from domestic or international business investment companies, in Japanese and English. Through the same courses, a richly diverse range of participants from overseas business investment destinations acquire understanding of the MC Group and solidarity with its values.
MC also hosts the Global Management Program, for which the company invites executive candidates selected from overseas bases and business investment companies from around the world. In 2010, executive candidates from 19 countries participated in the program.
At business investment companies within Japan, in addition to the training that the respective companies conduct independently, MC organizes leadership development programs that gather executive candidates from the respective companies, holds courses and other activities to support and strengthen management skills, and supports the HR development of the MC Group.
