Human Resource Strategies - Approach to Implement Personnel Policy in "Midterm Corporate Strategy 2012"

The basic themes of Midterm 2012 are "management that leverages its diversified business portfolio (cultivating multiple earning drivers by leveraging its diversified business portfolio and business models)" and "management that manages diversity (create overall strength as MC Group by managing diversity)." MC addresses personnel issues from the standpoints of (1) "The acquisition and enhancement of the capabilities necessary to promote/strengthen MC's diversified business portfolio", and (2) "Human resource management on an MC Group basis."

The "acquisition of capabilities" means to qualitatively and quantitatively secure, for the future, leaders capable of managing diversified businesses, and the human resources that are necessary to promote a diversified business portfolio. More specifically, in addition to examining ways to enhance employment policies and implementing such policies, MC also practices this examination and implementation process for various measures targeting all ranks of employees including the establishment of the infrastructure to strategically advance the future successors of executives and those in important positions, the practice of inter-organizational exchange to cultivate leaders with diverse experience, the enhancement of team leadership that is essential in the workplace, and the practice of a global trainee system to send young employees overseas and train them there at an early stage. Making the entire MC Group, not just Mitsubishi Corporation, the venue for training, exchange and other activities, MC is promoting the sharing and use of knowledge and advancing the sharing of values.
