President and Chief Executive Officer, Jason Stevens
Jason Stevens received an undergraduate degree in political science and a certificate in East Asian studies from Princeton University in 1990, and graduated with a Juris Doctor degree from the University of California at Berkeley School of Law in 1996.
Mr. Stevens joined Mitsubishi International Corporation’s Legal Department in 2001, after starting his career as a transactional attorney at a New York law firm in 1996. Since joining Mitsubishi International Corporation, he has worked as Counsel in its Legal Department (2001-2003) and served as Chief of Staff to its President (2003-2006).
In 2006, he was transferred to the Legal Division of Mitsubishi Corporation in Tokyo where he handled matters for the company’s machinery, energy, chemicals, and living essentials businesses from 2006 through 2008.
In late 2008, he was assigned to the Legal & Compliance Department of Mitsubishi Corporation International (Europe) Plc in London as General Manager, with responsibility for legal and compliance functions in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Mr. Stevens returned to the New York Office in 2011 to head the legal and compliance functions for the North America region, serving since 2013 as a Senior Vice President of Mitsubishi International Corporation and a Vice President of Mitsubishi Corporation (Americas), while also serving as Chief Legal Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, and Secretary of both companies. In those roles, he was responsible for the legal, compliance, and logistics management functions of those companies and their affiliates in North America.
In 2016, Mr. Stevens was promoted to the office of President and CEO of Mitsubishi International Corporation, becoming the first non-Japanese CEO in the company’s history.
