Operation of one of the largest and new offshore wind power projects in the Netherlands
Mitsubishi Corporation operates Hollande Kust Noord (HKN) offshore wind project in the Netherlands through Eneco, a Dutch integrated energy company, which is a joint venture between Mitsubishi Corporation and Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc.
HKN Wind Farm is located in the North Sea region about 18km off the coast of the Netherlands (approx. 20m depth). Eneco together with Shell, have been involved in all stages of development and construction, and commenced operation in December 2023. The total power generation capacity is around 760,000 kW, now being the one of the largest energy producers in the Netherlands. HKN Wind Farm supplies electricity to Amazon Web Services / Google, without any subsidies.

Due to the cost efficiencies accompanied by the scaling up of the turbines and improvements of technologies, offshore wind power generation business is expected to be one of the most promising renewable energy businesses in the industry.
