Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park
VSIP and VSIP Binh Duong (Binh Duong Province)
Singapore and Vietnam launched their first 500-ha joint flagship industrial park project --- Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) located at Binh Duong Province, 20km north of Ho Chi Minh City in 1996. VSIP is a self-contained industrial park with modern facilities such as ready-built factories, full infrastructure facilities including electricity, treated water, sewerage treatment and telecommunications for investors to set up their manufacturing plants.
To meet the strong demand, the VSIP set up a second park, named VSIP Binh Duong, in 2006 within the Binh Duong New Township, approximately 32 km north of Ho Chi Minh City, and just 15km north of the maiden VSIP. This 345-ha development also houses a logistics park, offering ready-build & built-to-suit warehouses and distribution centres.
In 2008, to meet the increasing demand of investors, VSIP Binh Duong expanded within the Binh Duong New Township, this time adding 1,700 hectares which comprises 1,000 hectares of industrial zone and 700 hectares township.
Today, the brand has two presences in southern Vietnam, the maiden VSIP and the VSIP Binh Duong, occupying a total of 2,845 ha in gross project size. It is one of the most successful industrial park brands in Vietnam where more than 440 customers from 22 countries and territories around the world have chosen to establish their long-term investment projects, and attracting total investment capital of US$5.3 billion.
VSIP Bac Ninh (Bac Ninh Province)
VSIP established an integrated township and industrial park in northern Vietnam's Bac Ninh province. Located about 20km from Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam, VSIP Bac Ninh integrates commercial and residential zones with community facilities including schools, sporting facilities, medical center and other utilities (200 ha), with industrial park development (500 ha). Singapore Senior Minister H.E. Goh Chok Tong said at the time of VSIP Bac Ninh's Ground Breaking Ceremony on December 11, 2007 as follows : "VSIP Bac Ninh is not only a Singapore-style industrial park but also a township that caters to Vietnam's growing needs for affordable quality housing and improved urban infrastructure. I am confident that VSIP Bac Ninh will make a significant contributions to Vietnam's urbanization and growth".
The 1,600 hectare VSIP Hai Phong was launched in January 2010 and adopts a model of an integrated industrial park and township, introducing residential, commercial and industrial mix. Key features of the VSIP Hai Phong would include a central business district, a four-kilometer stretch of waterfront land, financial and arts districts and convention centre. The VSIP Hai Phong shares borderless space with the future government civic area and university. As a whole, these developments will form a new metropolitan area north of the Cam River in the heart of Hai Phong City. As the Vietnam government views the VSIP Hai Phong critical to the economic and social development of Hai Phong City, the VSIP Hai Phong has been fully incorporated into the Dinh Vu-Cat Hai Economic Zone. It offers businesses operating in the VSIP Hai Phong government-supported investment incentives.
