Mitsubishi Australia Ltd.'s Metals business consists of four divisions: Ferrous Raw Materials, Non-Ferrous Metals, Steel Products and Automotive Tooling, Equipment & Materials.

Both the Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals Divisions actively pursue trading and mining opportunities in their respective fields. The Steel Division satisfies the steel products requirements of Australia's primary industries including Oil and Gas, Mining and Manufacturing, while the Automotive Tooling, Equipment & Materials Division provides equipment material and support to Australian automotive manufacturers.

We deal in a broad range of products including coking coal, thermal coal, iron ore, auxiliary materials, ferro-alloys, pig iron, ordinary steel, scrap steel, special steel and stainless steel, and precious metals.

BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA)

BMA is Australia's largest coal miner and exporter, and the world's largest supplier to the seaborne coking coal market. BMA was formed in June 2001, as a partnership between BHP Billiton and Mitsubishi Development Pty. Ltd., under which the two companies share equal ownership and management of eight Central Queensland coal mines: Goonyella Riverside, Broadmeadow, Peak Downs, Saraji, Norwich Park, Gregory, Crinum and Blackwater, and the Hay Point coal export terminal near Mackay.

Mitsubishi Development Pty. Ltd.

Mitsubishi Development Pty. Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation and is the holding company of Mitsubishi's mineral resources investments in Australia. The company specialises in developing coking coal for use in making steel and thermal coal for use in generating electrical power.

MC Iron & Steel Pty. Ltd.

MC Iron and Steel Pty. Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation and holds a 10% interest in the HIsmelt Kwinana Joint Venture Project in Western Australia. The HIsmelt process itself is a direct iron making process.

The Ryowa Development Group of Companies

The Ryowa group of companies are responsible for the management of Mitsubishi Corporation's equity interest in the Boyne Island aluminium smelter (BSL) and the Gladstone Power Station (GPS) located in Queensland, Australia.
