ENDA ENERGIE

ENDA ENERGIE is a Senegalese NGO that originated from the Enda Tiers-Monde organization in 2012, when it transformed into a network of autonomous associations sharing the same vision and mission. ENDA ENERGIE’s mission is to support communities in transformation processes geared toward sustainable development.
With the support of Mitsubishi Corporation Foundation for EMEA, ENDA ENERGIE is implementing the second phase of the RESICOM project across the Bamboung, Gandoul, and Sangomar Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) in Senegal. The project aims to restore mangrove ecosystems, strengthen biodiversity protection, and support sustainable livelihoods for local communities. A strong focus is placed on engaging younger generations through participation in reforestation activities, helping to foster environmental awareness and conservation practices within local communities.
To date, the project has restored 27.77 hectares of mangroves, distributed 3,089 improved cookstoves to reduce pressure on forest resources, and trained and sensitised 1,120 women in clean cooking techniques. The next phase of the project will focus on promoting the blue economy by supporting women’s groups in modern oyster farming, creating sustainable income opportunities while protecting natural ecosystems.
