Rainforest Alliance

Rainforest Alliance is an international non-profit organisation that works to restore the balance between people and nature for both to thrive in harmony. Active in 62 countries, its alliance brings together farm and forest communities, companies, governments, civil society, and millions of individuals to drive positive change in some of the world's critically important landscapes and global supply chains.
In Côte d’Ivoire, with the support of MCF for EMEA, the “TechForests” project is being implemented in the community forests of Apouéba and Zaranou, within the Beki-Bossématié landscape. In February 2026, a joint field mission brought together public authorities, private sector actors, and local communities to assess progress and reinforce the multi-stakeholder collaboration essential to the sustainability of the initiative.
The project combines technological innovation with participatory governance, including the deployment of digital tools for biodiversity monitoring, the training of community eco-guards, support for land tenure security, and capacity building for local stakeholders, particularly women and youth. These efforts contribute to improved forest resource management while supporting livelihood diversification.
Driven by strong community engagement, TechForests demonstrates how integrated approaches can deliver lasting environmental and socio-economic impacts at the landscape level.
