Industrial & Hydrogen Infrastructure Department

In Singapore, we are actively involved in developing supply chains for next generation fuels such as hydrogen and promoting partnerships with various companies.

As one of the fast-track initiatives in hydrogen field, we have partnered with local Singaporean companies such as Sembcorp Industries, City Energy Pte Ltd, Jurong Port Pte Ltd, PSA Corporation Ltd, and Singapore LNG Corporation Pte Ltd to jointly develop a commercial-scale decarbonized hydrogen supply chain to import hydrogen into Singapore, by utilizing Chiyoda Corporation’s proven hydrogen storage and transportation technology “SPERA Hydrogen”.

“SPERA Hydrogen” technology utilizes a type of liquid organic hydrogen carrier, methylcyclohexane (MCH) to store, transport and release hydrogen. MCH can be readily handled with existing industrial infrastructure and is considered to be safer as compared to other hydrogen carriers.

“SPERA Hydrogen” was awarded a grant under the Low-Carbon Energy Research Funding Initiative administered by A*STAR to support further technology improvement and small-scale demonstration projects.

Together with Mitsubishi Corporation, the parent company, and Mitsubishi Corporation Machinery, We are actively involved in the development of reliable power solutions in Singapore.

We undertake construction of new power plants projects and provide long-term service agreement after equipment commence operations, and rehabilitate aging power generation facilities.

We aim to play a greater role in creating a decarbonized economy by promoting emerging green energy solution such as hydrogen in power generation.

Power Plant Contracts Secured (both in EPC and LTSA)

  • Tuas Power Combined Cycle Power Plant (Block 1+2)
  • Tuas Power Combined Cycle Power Plant (Block 3+4)
  • Senoko Stage II Repowering (CCP 7 & CCP 6)
  • Tuas Power Plant
  • Senoko Power Plant

Transportation Business

Mitsubishi Corporation is actively involved in the Transportation sector in Singapore as in-line with our group global activities.

We have secured the contract for the supply of Automated People Mover (APM) System for the Sengkang-Punggol LRT (SPLRT) line which have served the residents there reliably for over 10 years.

In 2016, the APM system was upgraded to 2-car operation to cater for increased passenger rate.

In 2022, we received the contract to supply 17 new two-car LRT trains for the SPLRT line which will progressively replace the existing one-car trains.

We have also secured the contract for the supply of APM System for Changi Airport, "Skytrains" alongside with the contract for provision of Operation and Maintenance services for the system.

We will be continuing our efforts to pursue such related projects in the Singapore Transportation sector.
