Mitsubishi Corporation Partners with United Nations to Help Improve Livelihoods in Rural Myanmar

Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) hereby announces its decision to contribute US$ 200,000 to the Livelihoods and Food Security Trust Fund, LIFT, administered by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS). LIFT provides support for poor, rural communities in Myanmar.
As the first private sector donor, MC’s support for LIFT will contribute to improving the livelihoods of farmers and the development of agriculture in Myanmar.
MC, through its global network, continues our social contribution activities in response to the conditions and needs in each society.

LIFT is a multi-donor fund established in 2009 to improve the lives and prospects of poor and vulnerable people in rural Myanmar through the provision of funds to implementing partners such as NGOs working to support poor rural farming communities. Current donors are the European Union and the governments of Australia, Denmark, France, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Switzerland, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.
