Acquisition of WELL Certification Platinum
MC aims to create an environment where each employee can maximize their abilities, creativity, and productivity. To achieve this, relevant departments are collaborating to enhance the working environment.
WELL Certification* is an international evaluation system for working environments, and many companies worldwide aim to obtain it. We recognize that our acquisition of the "Platinum" certification is a result of our commitment to improving employee well-being, based on a foundation of a safe and secure working environment and the maintenance and enhancement of physical and mental health.
For MC, "human resources" are the "source of value creation" and our greatest asset. We will continue to invest in human resources and improve the environment to ensure that employees can fully exert their strengths.
- *WELL Certification: An evaluation system operated by the IWBI (International WELL Building Institute) in U.S., which focuses on the "health and well-being (physical, mental, and social well-being)" of people spending time in buildings and office spaces, measuring, evaluating, and certifying the functionality of building spaces based on performance. As of March 14, 2025, 48,085 certifications have been obtained worldwide, with 347 in Japan (including 34 Platinum certifications).

Challenges for Improving the Working Environment
Challenges for Improving the Working Environment
1. HR-related Initiatives:
We are committed to health management through the collaboration of our in-house clinic, wellness partner desk, mental health support desk, and others. Specifically, we are working on building an original app using data to support employees in both work and life, aiming for a vibrant and exciting environment where they can challenge themselves. The app is scheduled for release in the first half of fiscal year 2025, and it will support employees' health promotion, refreshment, and learning activities. At the same time, we are strengthening support for employees' mental health and reducing the risk of lifestyle-related diseases through individual health guidance and specific health guidance. By addressing health management from both proactive and protective perspectives, we aim to achieve well-being for our employees.
2. Office Facilities:
In the office renewal, we implemented various measures under the concepts of "co-creation," "well-being," "diversity/flexibility," and "digitalization." We introduced free address seating, biophilic design incorporating natural elements, ergonomics-compliant furniture, a grid planning system for efficient layout changes, and concierge services to address office-wide issues, creating an environment where each employee can comfortably use the office. We also renewed the common lounge to facilitate casual interactions and active communication across sections. Numerous in-house events are held, creating a lively and vibrant space.
3. Digital Technologies:
We have introduced various IT tools to enhance communication and collaboration both inside and outside the company. For example, the internal phonebook app now includes "contact information," "people location information," and "presence information," allowing employees to easily check the status of the person they want to contact and achieve efficient communication. We have also expanded web conferencing tools and monitors for offices and meeting rooms to promote "paperless" and "active meetings," and are testing the introduction of "voice communication tools" to enable hybrid meetings combining face-to-face and online formats. We will continue to improve the environment using IT and digital technologies, including the introduction of RPA, development of our own GPT tools, and establishment of a data utilization platform within group companies, to accelerate the maximization of creativity and productivity.
