New Disclosures on Business Materiality

Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) is dedicated to creating value and helping societies achieve sustainable growth through its businesses. This commitment is rooted in MC’s guiding philosophy, the “Three Corporate Principles,” and ensures that the company will continue to grow in step with the communities and regions in which it operates.
In May 2022, MC announced its latest management plan, entitled “Midterm Corporate Strategy 2024: Creating MC Shared Value.” The plan has redefined “Materiality” at MC, which covers what the company considers to be the most important societal challenges that its businesses need to address.
MC has eight key materiality themes, six of which focus on leveraging the company’s business activities to help societies achieve carbon neutrality and enrich quality of life, and two of which focus on managing the company and its various organizations in ways that are better suited to achieving its three-value mission.*

From here on, MC shall be clearly disclosing how each of its businesses impacts materiality.
