Social Media Terms of Use

Mitsubishi Corporation (the “Company”) establishes the “Mitsubishi Corporation Social Media Policy” and the following Terms of Use regarding the operation of its applicable official social media accounts.

Article 1: Purpose of Use and Applicable Accounts

The Company shall use the following official accounts for the purpose of disseminating information from the Company to users (as defined in Article 4).

Article 2: Scope of Application and Modification of Terms of Use

These Terms of Use regarding the provision and use of official accounts shall apply to the Company and users.
The Company may change these Terms of Use without obtaining the prior consent of users. Modified Terms of Use shall be posted on the Company's website and take effect after posting.

Article 3: Use and Period of Official Accounts

Users shall use official accounts in accordance with these Terms of Use. The Company reserves the right to change or terminate the contents of an official account without prior notice to users.
In addition, the Company does not guarantee that it will update all of its official accounts. Any posts or comments, etc. made on official accounts will be considered public information and may be stored and recorded by the Company.

Article 4: Users

“Users” are defined as those who have viewed an official account or taken an action such as “liking” or “commenting.”
In addition, the use of an official account shall be deemed to constitute agreement by the user to these Terms of Use.

Article 5: Access to Basic Information

The Company may access information that is publicly available to all users, such as names and profile pictures, in accordance with the user's social media settings.

Article 6: Disclaimers

  1. Information on official accounts is current at the time of dissemination. In addition, information disseminated by the Company and its employees through official accounts does not necessarily represent the official announcements and views of the Company. Please refer to the Company's Press Room page, etc., for official announcements and views.
  2. The Company shall not be liable for any damage or trouble incurred by users in connection with the information displayed on official accounts, and changes or updates to the display of said information, etc.
  3. The Company shall not be liable for any damage, loss, or disadvantage incurred in connection with the use of official accounts under any circumstances, regardless of the legal cause of action.
  4. Information posted by third parties, such as comments on official account pages, is the sole responsibility of the third party who posted the information. The Company assumes no responsibility for such information. In addition, information posted is not endorsed by the Company, nor does it represent the Company's views.
  5. These accounts are operated by the systems of companies that provides social media, and therefore the Company makes no guarantees regarding functionality or safety of said accounts. In addition, the Company is unable to answer any questions regarding the operational status of the systems of external companies, the functions of software or applications provided by external companies, etc., how to use such software or applications, technical questions, etc.
  6. The Company does not respond to all comments and inquiries from users sent to official accounts.
  7. Please note that the Company does not accept any sales activities, consultations, or inquiries regarding its activities that are sent to its official accounts.

Article 7: Prohibited Acts

The following acts related to official accounts are prohibited. Please note that the Company may delete posts and comments, block accounts, or take other measures deemed necessary without reporting such activities should any applicable content be found.

  • Acts that infringe or may infringe on the interests of others
  • Acts that infringe on the rights of third parties (intellectual property rights including copyrights and trademark rights, privacy, etc.)
  • Acts that are libelous, defamatory, or discriminatory, or that infringe on the rights of third parties
  • Acts that disclose, identify, or leak personal information of oneself or others
  • Acts that violate laws, regulations, or ordinances, or that encourage, suggest, or promote violent or illegal activities
  • Acts that transmit obscene content or content that the Company deems inappropriate
  • Acts that involve or incite crimes
  • Acts that impersonate a third party, including the Company
  • Acts that advertise or solicit membership in political, electoral, religious, or other groups and/or organizations
  • Acts that provide information for the purpose of sales or profit by utilizing the Company's services
  • Acts of spam
  • Acts of uploading software or files whose rights are protected without authorization
  • Acts of uploading harmful files or programs such as computer viruses
  • Acts of hacking or other unauthorized access, as well as acts of monitoring or duplication
  • Acts of linking that impair the clarity of the official accounts, such as iframe embedding.
  • Acts that create the misconception that there is some kind of partnership or cooperative relationship with the Company, or that the Company or a third party recognizes, guarantees, supports, or recommends the link source site, without being based on facts, as well as acts that could create such a misconception
  • Acts that interfere with use or access by other users
  • Acts of posting that are unrelated to the purpose of the official account, as well as acts that violate the terms of use stipulated by each platform
  • Other acts that violate the Terms of Use or public order and morals, or that the Company deems inappropriate

In the event that the Company incurs damage as a result of the user's actions, the Company reserves the right to demand compensation from said user.
In the event that a user causes damage to a third party through their use of an official account, said user shall be responsible for resolving the matter at their own responsibility and expense.

Article 8: Intellectual Property Rights

Copyrights and all other intellectual property rights (including but not limited to copyrights, design rights, patent rights, utility model rights, trademark rights, and know-how) to information displayed on official accounts shall belong to the Company or other rights holders such as copyright holders.

Users shall grant the Company the right to use (including processing, excerpting, reproduction, publication, and translation) content posted to official accounts free of charge and on a non-exclusive basis throughout the world. Furthermore, users shall not exercise intellectual property rights such as copyrights and moral rights related to said content against the Company.

Users may not use any information provided through official accounts without the permission of the rights holder, beyond the scope of private reproduction by individual users as permitted by the Copyright Act and other restrictions under the Copyright Act. In addition, any use for commercial purposes is strictly prohibited.

In the event that a problem arises with a rights holder or a third party in violation of the provisions of this Article, the user shall resolve the problem at their own responsibility and expense.

Article 9: Purpose of Use of Personal Information and Privacy Policy

Except as otherwise provided by laws and regulations, the Company shall use the personal information of users within the scope necessary to achieve the following purposes.

Article 10: Regarding Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms of Use shall be governed by, construed, and applied in accordance with the laws of Japan. In the event that a problem arises regarding the use of official accounts that cannot be resolved under these Terms of Use, the Company and the user shall discuss and resolve the problem in good faith. In the event that a problem arises that cannot be resolved through good-faith discussion and a lawsuit regarding the use of official accounts becomes necessary, the Tokyo District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance.
