Project of Tree Planting for Desertification Prevention, Uzbekistan

On March 20, 2017 a Ground breaking Ceremony for the Project of Tree Planting for Desertification Prevention in Uzbekistan was held at the project site Dungalak in Navoi region, Uzbekistan.
With the joint efforts of school kids, local community representatives, volunteers three were planted sixteen kilograms of Saxaul seeds and four thousand seedlings.
The Project is aimed at implementation of the desertification prevention program for environmental recovery and increasing income by utilizing the community mutual aid scheme Hashar.

Mitsubishi Group Internship Program for Australian University Students on the New Colombo Plan, Australia

6 Mitsubishi Group companies jointly held a 2 week internship program for Australian university students in February. Mitsubishi Corporation, Tokio-Marine Fire Nichido Insurance, Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ, Mitsubishi Electric, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Mitsubishi Motors participated in this program and welcomed 29 students. They engaged in a variety of activities including office and operational site visits, and learnt Mitsubishi Group's diverse business activities. Many of the participants said “The size and diversity of the Mitsubishi Group was almost overwhelming, and we learnt a lot about various industries and businesses in 2 weeks””This program gave us a great opportunity to think about our future career more clearly”. The Mitsubishi Group supported the Australian Government's New Colombo Plan* through this internship program.

Japan Association for the World Food Program Charity Walk: 'Walk the World'

The Japan Association for the World Food Program* hosted a charity walk called 'Walk the World' on 15th May 2016.
Taking place on a Sunday morning, the event attracted 4,658 participants including 37 participants from Mitsubishi Corporation and Group Company's employees and families. The diverse crowd, ranging from adults to children, enjoyed a leisurely 5-10km walk along Yokohama's scenic Minato-Mirai Bay, and in doing so made a significant contribution towards the organization's aim of raising funds for children.
