Notice of "Healthcare MaaS 2023: The Future of Connecting Health and Mobility with Data"

●A three-day event for the experience and information exchange on the most advanced information on health, disease management, exercise, sports, mobility, etc.
●A demonstration experiment of the most advanced emergency services combining the latest technology under the theme of "The Ambulance of the Future"
●Research exhibitions by Yokohama National University, exhibitions by health innovation companies, and hands-on exhibitions of the latest technology by 30 Shonan iPark tenants and local companies
 
 
iPark Institute Co., Ltd. (iPark Institute), Yokohama National University (YNU), Shonan Kamakura General Hospital (SKGH) and Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) are pleased to announce the event of "Healthcare MaaS*1 2023: The Future of Connecting Health and Mobility with Data". The event shall run from December 1 to December 3 and receive backing from both the prefectural government of Kanagawa and the municipal governments of two of its cities, Fujisawa and Kamakura.
 
This year, which marks the third year of the event, we will open our research facilities to the local citizens for the experience and understanding of the research we are conducting and of the five-party collaboration* 2  we are promoting towards the establishment of cutting-edge health innovation bases in the Muraoka District of Fujisawa City and the Fukasawa District of Kamakura City.
 
Through these efforts, we aim to co-create the cutting-edge health innovation bases in the Muraoka-Fukasawa District with the local citizens, and contribute to the community in the healthcare field.
 
*1: Healthcare MaaS= To support people's healthy lives by creating a seamless mobility system oriented towards healthcare. MaaS stands for "Mobility as a Service."
*2: Shonan iPark, Kanagawa Prefecture, Fujisawa City, Kamakura City, and SKGH signed a memorandum of understanding in May 2019 to promote advanced, health-related innovations in the Muraoka-Fukasawa District. Specifically, the three research areas are "Next-Generation Health Management," "Healthcare MaaS", and "Promotion of Sports”.

Subject: Industry, government, academic and medical experts interested in realizing the concept of Muraoka-Fukasawa Health innovation base.
Contents: The latest technologies in health data and transportation from various viewpoints of industry, academia and medical doctors.
 
2.Thinking about the future "everyone's storytelling place" - Let's think about the future of this city "(pre-registration required):
Date: Saturday, December 2, 13:30-16:30
Subjects: Citizens who are interested in realizing the Muraoka-Fukasawa Health Innovation Base Initiative
Contents: Lectures on “Community Transportation and Health”, and discussions with citizens on the future of the Muraoka-Fukasawa district based on healthcare MaaS.
3.Demonstration – “Experience the Future! “(pre-registration required):
Date: Saturday, December 2, Sunday, December 3, 9:00-16:00
Contents: Health innovation in the Muraoka-Fukasawa District in cooperation with the emergency room (ER) of SKGH through the experience of future emergency services in response to major disasters and accidents.
▶Demonstration of "the future of mobility" using an ambulance
Description: A drone photographs the scene of a simulated catastrophe or accident to grasp the initial situation, and an actual ambulance rushes to the scene. A paramedic wearing a smart glass works remotely with the hospital's ER, and carries out accurate initial measures under the direction of the ER. Drones deliver missing medical supplies to the site. In the ambulance, real-time vital data and electronic medical record data such as medical history are interlinked with the ER in both directions, and the ER accurately grasps the condition of the injured person and prepares for surgery.
 
 
4.Workshop (pre-registration required):

① Let's think about health based on the sports community from the data of wearable devices
Contents: Workshop-style discussions on how to develop into a city where people can stay healthy by acquiring health data and visualizing their health in the community based on the data obtained by wearing wearable devices from 20 local volunteers.

② Changing Gear from Metabolic Syndrome to Frailty - Preparing for 100 Years of Life
Contents: Lectures on the importance of the gear operation for metabolic syndrome countermeasures for people under 60 and frailty countermeasures for people over 70 from the perspectives of exercise, diet and nutrition, sleep, and medication, looking ahead to the 100 years of life.

③ Introduction of Community Co-creation Activities to Promote Nursing Taxis
Contents: Lectures from SKGH and YNU who jointly created an initiative to improve the optimization and efficiency of mobility, with the aim of creating an environment where people who have difficulty walking and need assistance are able to go out at any time.

④ Use of Medical and Health Data to Always Be Healthy
Contents: It is feared that the medical/nursing care system may collapse if the number of sick people continues to increase with the rise of the super-aging society and it is hoped that the healthy life expectancy will extend through the creation of a society in which people can always remain healthy.
Workshop-style discussions on future health innovations that will utilize big data such as personal health data and medical history/medication history.

Contents: The exhibitions provides the access to projects and research related to health, non-illness, medical care, transportation, data linkage, sports, and food.

About Shonan Kamakura General Hospital
SKGH opened in November 1988 with 368 beds. Dedicated to always meeting the region’s urgent medical needs, SKGH has continued to diversify and grow its systems and capabilities. In 2021, it completed construction of a new cutting-edge medical center designed to treat those in need of advanced care, including proton therapy, PET and CT scans, regenerative medicine and so on. This year, SKGH completed construction of two more centers, one to provide emergency and critical care, and the other to treat victims of trauma. In addition to having now grown its general capacity to 669 beds, SKGH has also established an advanced research facility at Shonan iPark, where it is engaged in research and development on medical diagnoses and treatments that integrate basic, translational, and clinical studies.
