The Rainforest Alliance is an international non-profit organization working at the intersection of business, agriculture, and forests. They aim to create a better future for people and nature by making responsible business the new normal.
The Rainforest Alliance is building an alliance to protect forests, improve the livelihoods of farmers and forest communities, promote their human rights, and help them mitigate and adapt to the climate crisis.
The MCFEA has been working with Rainforest Alliance since 2017 to improve the capacity and productivity of smallholder cocoa farmer groups’ to help address sustained poverty in Côte d’Ivoire. Rainforest Alliance provided technical assistance on Climate-Smart Agriculture practices for farmers, built the capacity of farming cooperatives, and promoted environmental awareness within the local community by providing training to schools and villages.
