Excellent Development
Excellent Development supports farmers in Africa to gain access to clean water and grow enough food to eat and sell by teaching them improved soil and water conservation and farming techniques, while also building innovative sand dams that give access to clean water all year round.
The MCFEA worked with Excellent from 2010 to 2013 by funding projects to construct numerous sand dams in south east Kenya and thereby provide access to clean water and enhanced food security for local communities. The programme also involved the digging of terraces to conserve soil and water, the planting of trees, and training on sustainable farming activities to help enable optimum use of sand dams.
