Onshore wind power in Laos

MMonsoon power plant is an onshore wind power plant located in Laos. As a “cross-border power export project”, this plant exports electricity to Vietnam Electricity, a state-owned electricity company in Vietnam. By being one of the largest installed capacities in Southeast Asia consisting of 600MW, this project is positioned as a key component of the agreement between the governments of Laos and Vietnam for exporting total of 5,000 MW electricity by 2030.
Mitsubishi Corporation participated into this project through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Diamond Generating Asia, Limited, in June 2021. Construction is currently underway, commercial operations scheduled to start in 2025.
